PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES WE OFFER

WORKSHOPS

Currently we offer two unique workshops for youth under the age of 25 residing in shelters across Ontario.

Mental Health: In partnership with jack.org, this workshop teaches youth tangible skills to cope with mental health challenges.

Art & Mindfulness: This workshop explores the connection between art and mindfulness to provide an environment to destress and reflect

ANIMAL STATIONS

In 2022, we launched our pilot program called Animal Stations/Booths.

The program has two primary goals:

1. Support youth in their responsibility as pet owners.

2. Increase our accessibility to youth and animals in need.

COMMUNITY PANTRY

With the help of our partners, The Canadian Courage Project funded, built, and filled our first Community Pantry.

This initiative aimed to unite the community in helping those in needing by providing resources such as food, hygiene items, pet supplies and essential day to day items.

COMMUNITY LIBRARIES

This initiative aimed to address the issue of illiteracy amongst the population of youth facing homelessness.

With over 300 books donated to our mission, The Canadian Courage Project and Blue Door built and filled five Community Libraries in the York Region to promote literacy and facilitate learning.

WELLNESS DEPARTURE KITS

We provide youth in transition with wellness kits filled with essential items and pet supplies for youth facing homelessness and their animal companions.

These items provide them with the necessary items to promote courage within them through their journey towards empowerment, relief, and freedom.
